So we embarked on our journey, it was a 12 hour bus journey, aprox 950km, but the bus was very comfortable so we managed a good amount of sleep.
On our first day in Phatalung P'Um took us down to what we thought was going to be a boat show on a big lagoon
There was definitely a big lagoon, but it turned out to be a float show, our mistake.
We had a meal at the show and the seats were fully reclined.
but before the float show we had some time to have a look around phatalung, it is a beautiful place and has some amazing sights.
This mountain is the symbol of Phatalung, theres 3 mountains in a row and a story to go with them something about a love triangle that ended in everyone dying and this mountain below is called stab chest mountain for obvious reasons, later on in our time here we would climb up to see the view through it.
We saw this car garage with its sketchy ramp, Deac thought his dad would find this funny.
The following day P'Um had some places to be so we went off on a little adventure and came across some rice fields and a beautiful temple.
The next day we went to see P'Game in hospital, were still not quite sure what was wrong with him but we gave him some sympathy all the same.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Game's parents, very nice people.
That evening we headed to a party for Um's friend who, the very next day would be becoming a Monk.
We were invited to the cerempny and we gladly excepted.
Deacon had never been to a Monk ceremony before and was intrigued by the whole thing.
Us and the man himself, i must say he is looking rather happy :S
The next day we were heading to the beach but we made a stop first at a hilltop temple, just outside the sky lift up to the temple were wild monkeys just playing around, as they do.
Going up?
Beautiful view.
The following day we headed up aprox 12 million stairs to the top of the mountain with a massive hole going through it.
Okay not quite a million stairs, but a
lot.
On our final night we headed to a wonderful little american style coffee shop and had a little relaxing drink.
The south of Thailand is very different from the north, it is a beautiful place uninterrupted by western society in the most part, like something we had never seen before. Beautiful :)
Peace
